Trust your instincts, if you are sitting in the salon chair and you feel the communication isn't there and your not comfortable about having that person do your hair, get up and leave!  You can do it graciously, 

bottom line your hair your money and honestly if you want to know the truth we as stylist want you to be happy and would rather you not stay if you are not or to go with some one else.  If you are with a stylist that doesn't seem to care clearly time to leave!

Flaky Scalp can be caused from dandruff, dry scalp, and or hair styling product residue.  Generally dandruff is present on an oily scalp.  Dry scalp can be treated with coconut oils or other scalp moisturizing oils that can help the flaking.  If you use water soluble hair products that will avoid any residue flaking.

Staying positive with damaged hair is a must because the good news is you can reverse damaged hair and get healthy hair again.  You may have to cut the damaged hair off if its that bad but the good news is it will grow back!!  Find a good leave in conditioner and keep good hair products and you will be on the road to recovery!
