Putting Bright Colors In Your Hair

Putting bright colors in your hair is a fashion trend right now, pinks are in.  If you have dark hair you will have to bleach up the section you plan to do pink.  Depending on the product you use and the color and condition of your hair will determine how long the color will last.  There are other options to consider;  You may want to consider feathers or clip in hair wefts of different colors if you are not a candidate to that type of service or your job wont allow you to have it permanently, plus the hair wefts and feathers wont fade as color will.

Perms and Body Waves

There are several differant wraps for perms to achieve differant type of curls.  Dont mistake a body wave with a perm, its all about the perm wrap.  There are Texturize Perms that are more gentle and are amonia free but keep in mind it is for texture not curl, great alternative for those that just want some fullness and body.

Styling Your Hair

When styling your hair be sure your hair is completely dry. When you dry your hair the heat from the blow dryer makes your hair feel dry.  Always let your hair cool a little than feel to see if your hair is dry.  If your hair is not completely dry you will not beable to style your hair properly and your style will fall.

Summer Pony's

Summer Pony Tails are cooler to wear and fashionable if you put some curl in them or pony pieces to attach that gives you more hair.  Wrap a section of you hair around the band holding your pony so you don't see it and it looks more stylish.  You can use fun ribbon, sparkly bands or beads that are strung to wrap around the pony to give it a little pop.  Enjoy those Pony's this summer!

Curls Are In...........

Curls are in style right now and how much fun you can have with curl.  You can have a controlled curl which you achieve by using curling irons and rollers, barrel pin curls etc.  If you are putting curl in your hair remember using a thermal spray will work well and remember the bigger the section you take to put in the roller or the curling iron the bigger the curl you will get.

What bang is for you...

What bang is for you that works for your hair type and hair line?  Unless you have straight hair bangs can be challenging especially in humid weather.  If your front hairline does not have peaks and curves bangs will work for you.  If you do have peaks or curves side bangs can work.  Cutting blunt will give you a full bang, point cut will give you a softer edge without looking too straight across.  If you are having a side bang you can slide cut and point cut it so it falls soft and blends and flows into the side of your hair.  You can angle your bang any way you want.  Thick or thin bangs, it all can work!

what conditioner should you use?

If you have thick course hair, or very dry hair use a thicker creamy conditioner that contains hydrolyzed wheat protein, oils, and panthenol is good also, very healing.  If you have a thinner fine texture hair a finishing rinse which is not very thick is good.  If you have thin fine textured hair and you are very damaged a leave in conditioner with panthenol is not heavy on your hair and will help heal as well as other proteins in the ingredients.  One thing to remember unless you have extremely oily hair you should condition regularly.

Trimming your hair while growing it out

Its important to know to trim your hair while you are growing it out.  If you don't trim your ends they eventually split and break and that is how you get thin ends.  You can get a "dusting" which is a very small trim.  You will see healthy hair growth results when you condition and cut/dust regularly.  Dont be afraid to get the intitial cut to get your hair in shape to grow it out, you will see quicker results!

How often do you trim your hair

The hairdressing rule basically is trimming your hair every 6 weeks.  If you are wearing your hair in a short style most often people get it cut every 4 weeks, depending on how it grows out.  If you have a good hair cut it will grow out nicely and you benefit with a few different looks as it grows.

Flat Head

If you suffer from the flat head especially on top, there is hope to get volume.  Use a light weight moose, gel, or root lifter/volume foam - for curly hair;  using a product by Scruples called Silk Control is the answer.  Smooths friz while still giving volume.  Make sure you blow dry your hair in the opposite direction like upside down and be sure the roots get dry.  After drying the hair take horizontal 1" sections using the flat iron quickly sliding the iron at the root half way up the hair shaft to achieve some lift.  You can lightly mist a light weight hair spray through your hair first.  You can also spray you hair at the root and use a cool temp blow dryer to dry and seal the lift.  Works great :)  Looking for good products to use, look for my shopping cart coming soon at www.tropicalwaveshairsalon.com
