Keratin is great for the frizz in your hair especially in summer time.  If you live in climates with humidity it sure can help.  Depending on your hair there is a temporary keratin that can last up to a 4 -6 weeks depending on how often you shampoo your hair and than there is a longer lasting one that is more costly.

Conditioning your hair at home

Conditioning your hair at home can be a quick conditioning in the shower after shampooing and also it is recommended monthly to deep condition your hair.  Depending on the condition of your hair will determine how often you should deep condition.  Deep conditioning means adding protein and moisture (hydrating) to your hair after shampooing and using a cap with heat or going under the dryer for 15 minutes.

Hair Brushes

Hair Brushes come in different sizes, shapes, and different bristles.  You have one that needs to go through your hair right to your scalp so you know all of your hair is getting brushed, generally called a paddle brush.  So often children get horrible mats in their hair because the hair brush does not go through to the scalp.  You also want to make sure if there are ball tips on the bristles that those are not all broken off so there is no hair pulling which can make knots and end up in breakage.

The prices vary from salon to salon for many reasons.  Some reasons are the over head is higher, some areas are more expensive and the bills are much higher. Some salons carry more hair product than other so there is a lot of money sitting on the shelves; also education costs, extra classes and experience has a price tag on it. You are not paying for someone out of school you are also paying for experience.  You may want to consider that when looking for a new salon/hair stylist.
