All types of hair needs to be conditioned.  Its obvious when your hair is dry and frizzy but even fine oily hair can be conditioned to help with snarls and to help add body.  Conditioners that help build strength  generally wont leave your hair oily.  I can only speak for professional products I can not speak for what is over the counter.

It can be worth the wait for the stylist or salon you were recommended to go to.  Sometimes you want your hair done now and the salon is not open or the stylist you want it busy;  most often its worth waiting.  So many times that happens to me and the same client recalls me to fix what another stylist did in another salon because they did not wait.  I totally understand when you want to do it now but try to detract yourself into another direction off your focus on your hair until you can get in where you really want to go.

Hair Extension Application Price Dropping?

Hair extension application is coming down in price in my salon.  Micro Bead application is a great method but if its done right its not going to harm your hair which also means it may not stay in as long  a sew in would.  Very fine hair or even heavy hair may need to be done sooner than expected.  With that in mind you may check with your local salons to see if they have come down in the price for applications.  If the job can be done in a few hours I have dropped the price in my salon.  If longer time is required the price will remain the same.

If you are snowbound............

If you are snowbound take a You Day and deep condition your hair, after shampooing towel blot, put a good conditioner on your hair, comb through and put a shower cap on your head.  Either go under a heated dryer or wrap a warm towel fresh out of the dryer and wrap it around your head to help keep the heat it.  Rinse well after 15 minutes.  Watch a good movie or read a good book, enjoy your day!

The Frizz Factor is a major annoyance.  Product is very important.  Conditioner, leave in, styling aid and glosses before you dry your hair and after.  Some hair can take all of the above without showing too much product in their hair. Some professional products are not heavy on the hair and fine or thinner hair can take more product.  As long as it works great!

Going Dark and Darker

Going dark and darker is fine but when you want to go lighter it is challenging.  If  you color darker for a long period of time you can not lift it out with color.  You will need bleach or color remover just to start, than you have to color.  I would advise you to have a professional do the job for you.  Plus you want to condition in between.

Beware of the impulse run to the hairdresser.  I understand when you want your hair colored you want it done now, but if the place you really want to go to is unavailable you may want to make an appointment and wait than to go to second choice, like a walk in chain salon.  So often there are regrets and you end up spending more money in the long run to correct the work that was done, its more damaging on your hair and more time.  If you took the time to do your research that means you care where you go, so keep that in mind next time you have the thought "I want my hair colored now"
